Blue Lantern Security

Cost effective cyber security monitoring for small and mid-sized businesses. Email, device, and web monitoring your team can turn on in minutes, priced by the seat, with a free tier to get started.

The Problem: Security Platforms Aren't Built for SMBs

Large companies can afford broad platforms and can hire a team to manage the tooling. Small and mid-sized businesses can't afford the cost, the time to procure, or the time to manage the platform, and yet they are one large incident away from financial ruin.

The Cost is Out of Reach

Traditional platforms start at annual licenses in the tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars, before integration, training, and maintenance push the real cost two to four times higher. That math never works for a team of ten. We price by the seat at $15/month, with a free tier for light use, so the bill matches the size of the business.

Procurement Takes Months

Getting a major security platform from first call to full deployment routinely takes six to twelve months of demos, negotiation, and rollout. That is time an SMB simply doesn't have to give. Sign up, add seats when you're ready, and start running tools in under five minutes. No sales cycle, no multi-year contract, and a free tier to try it without a credit card.

Nobody Has Time to Run It

A platform you have to staff is a platform that becomes shelfware, which is how 60% of enterprise security tooling ends up underutilized. Our monitoring is low effort by design: deploy it to your users, let the findings collect on one central hub, and set alerting once so you never have to log into another tool.

The Blue Lantern Thesis

Cost effective tooling, priced the way SMBs buy

Blue Lantern Security helps SMBs with cost effective cybersecurity tooling by offering a free tier and simple seat-based pricing for user-centric monitoring technologies: email, device, and web. One platform, one price, one central hub for everything your team runs.

Active Monitoring

Browser, email, and device monitoring deployed to each of your users. Low effort to run, with findings searchable from the central hub so you get visibility into the risks actually facing your organization.

SaaS Toolkit

Instant, cloud-hosted tools accessible over the web or by API: email analysis, static malware analysis, URL detonation, QR conversion, and permissions context. Nothing to install and nothing to stand up.

On-Prem Toolkit

An air-gapped Docker container for local CLI and UI scanning, covering static malware, code scanning, secrets scanning, and IAM analysis, with an optional MCP server. For the data that can't leave your environment.

Organizations, centralized monitoring, active alerting to email or your SIEM, and a managed phishing abuse inbox are included at no additional price.

Pricing That Fits a Small Team

Start free and add seats when you need monitoring. There are no contracts, no minimums, and no credit card to get started.

Free Tier

$0 / 30 tool runs / day

Sign up and run the Email Analyzer, URL Detonation Engine, and Static Malware Analyzer up to 30 times a day at no cost. No credit card and no expiry, so you can keep a second opinion on hand for suspicious emails, links, and files. Active monitoring and API access require a seat.

Seat-Based

$15 / seat / month

Buy licenses for the users you want monitored and deploy monitoring to their web traffic, email, and devices. There is no added cost for running any tool in the platform once a seat is licensed. A 10-person team runs $150/month, predictable and consistent. Add or remove seats on demand; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing month.

Who are we?

Our founders come from a background of computer science, cyber security, and business. We like to get hands on with our problem solving and get work done.

Will Burger - CEO

Will comes from a background of engineering, consulting, and building startups. Previously he helped build Longbow Security which was ultimately acquired by Veracode and transformed into Veracode Risk Manager. At Veracode Will worked as a product manager before founding Blue Lantern. Prior to his work in product, Will was a security engineer and consultant, where he implemented, integrated, and built products in the security space to tackle business challenges.

Andrew Burger - President

Andrew spent nearly a decade at McKinsey & Company, where he led the Electric Power & Natural Gas research team across the Americas, specializing in digital technologies and drone applications for utilities. Before McKinsey, he cut his teeth in corporate finance at GE and Synchrony, learning gold-standard reporting practices and enterprise risk management. He co-founded Blue Lantern to bring that same rigor to cybersecurity tooling.
